Having worked in the property software industry since 2005, building industry leading CRMs and award winning WordPress plugins, we are always looking for ways to make building estate agency websites easier and more accessible.

One of the ways in which agents and web developers might do this themselves is to use an off-the-shelf theme like Houzez, and rightly so. Packed full of features and various layout options, it’s a quick and efficient way to get an estate agency website operational.

A key requirement for any property website however is to import and export properties from and to various CRM’s and property portals. We quickly noticed that Houzez is the most popular theme, yet no dedicated feeds were available.

Sure, plugins exist that allow you to import generic CSV’s or export XML files, but they’re pretty limited, and for formats that don’t support these formats, or that require something a little more bespoke (e.g. authentication), they simply fall over.
